Headless WordPress development agency
Headless WordPress separates content management from the public website. That can create more flexibility in delivery, but publishing, previews and integrations need deliberate planning.

Keep WordPress for content while shaping a separate website front end
Separating the systems changes how content reaches visitors. Static generation is one possible approach, but headless does not automatically mean static, faster or cheaper.
The practical requirements of headless WordPress
The architecture needs to work for editors and developers as well as visitors.
A defined content model
Choose how WordPress content is structured and made available to the front end.
An appropriate rendering approach
Static pages, server rendering and dynamic features have different demands.
Security across the whole setup
WordPress, APIs, credentials and third-party services still need protection. Separating the front end does not remove all attack surfaces or security responsibilities.
A workable publishing flow
Consider how edits trigger updates, how long publication takes and what happens if a build fails.
Hosting with the full costs visible
Budget for the CMS, front end, builds and any supporting services.
Previews editors can use
Draft previews and protected content need a deliberate solution.
Headless website projects

Find the right starting point for your website, online shop or design project.
All servicesDesign that looks like your business rather than a template someone else is also using. Built to load fast and to be found for the things people actually search for.
For when you need to edit everything yourself. Built on clean custom fields rather than a page builder, so it stays quick and does not fall apart on update day.
Online shops on Shopify, set up so the product data, the feeds and the analytics all agree with each other. No bespoke checkout, because you do not need one.
A static front end with the content held somewhere sensible behind it. Nothing to hack, nothing to slow down, and hosting that costs almost nothing to run.
Logos, brand marks, artwork and the bits that go around a site: social templates, printed pieces, photography direction. Useful whether or not we built the website.
Updates, backups, uptime monitoring, hosting and a set number of small changes each month. Optional, and you can leave whenever you like.

“Amply was fantastic at designing my website. They were helpful, quick to reply and very informative. I will definitely continue to use their services. Couldn’t recommend more.”
Holly WatsonFounder, Horizon Sports “Really happy with how our new website has turned out. We wanted something that looked professional, was easy for customers to use and showed off the work we do, and that's exactly what we've got. The whole process was really easy, and it was great having someone who understood what we were after and could bring our ideas to life. Would happily recommend!”

“A big thank you for my website design and delivery!!”
Chris BaronManaging Director, Silver Bullet Express “The team at Amply did a brilliant job at building my new website. I can't thank them enough, particularly Nigel and Josh who went the extra mile to make sure that the site looked nice and also brings us in work.”
Jordan MilmanDirector, F&F Drainage “We have used 2 or 3 larger agencies in the past.... All were a waste of money, Nigel has been very consistent and lovely to deal with.”

Is the extra flexibility worth the complexity?
A separate front end may suit particular performance, publishing or integration requirements. It also creates another system to build, host and maintain, so the benefits need a clear connection to the brief.
Compare the proposed approach with a conventional WordPress build using realistic costs and everyday editing tasks. A technically interesting architecture is not enough on its own to justify the move.

Questions about headless WordPress
Will our editors notice a difference?
They may keep familiar editing screens, while previews and publishing behaviour change. Review those workflows with the people who will use them.
What do we lose?
Features that depend on a WordPress theme or front-end plugin may need replacing or integrating separately. Audit search, forms, comments and other interactive features before choosing the architecture.
Is it more expensive to build?
The separate systems can add development and maintenance work. Running costs depend on traffic, hosting and services; savings or a payback period should not be assumed.
What if we want to go back?
Returning to a conventional setup is possible in principle, but may require a theme, content changes and replacement integrations. Treat it as a project to assess rather than a simple switch.
Does search still work?
Site search needs a suitable implementation for the architecture.
Does it suit a site that changes several times a day?
It can, depending on build times, caching and how updates are delivered. Frequent publishing should be tested against the proposed workflow before committing to it.
