Give guests the menu, atmosphere and practical details they need to plan a visit
Photography sets the scene, but practical information helps someone make a plan. Keep the essentials accessible while giving the food, venue and story room to be enjoyed.
What guests need from a restaurant website
Support the quick practical visit as well as the person taking time to explore.
Menus that are easy to read
Present menus in a format suited to mobile screens, with current prices and approved dietary information. Make updates manageable for the responsible team.
Accurate opening arrangements
Distinguish venue, kitchen and special opening times where relevant. Plan how the team will update these details when they change.
An obvious booking route
Make the current reservation method easy to reach.
Photography with a purpose
Use representative food and venue images, sized appropriately so they support the experience without overwhelming the page.
Useful location information
Give accurate address, directions and contact details. Search features and map visibility cannot be guaranteed by website markup.
Space for events and private hire
Explain genuine options, capacities and enquiry arrangements. Verify any package, pricing or facilities information with the venue.

For when you need to edit everything yourself. Built on clean custom fields rather than a page builder, so it stays quick and does not fall apart on update day.

A static front end with the content held somewhere sensible behind it. Nothing to hack, nothing to slow down, and hosting that costs almost nothing to run.
Logos, brand marks, artwork and the bits that go around a site: social templates, printed pieces, photography direction. Useful whether or not we built the website.
Updates, backups, uptime monitoring, hosting and a set number of small changes each month. Optional, and you can leave whenever you like.

Holly WatsonFounder, Horizon Sports “Really happy with how our new website has turned out. We wanted something that looked professional, was easy for customers to use and showed off the work we do, and that's exactly what we've got. The whole process was really easy, and it was great having someone who understood what we were after and could bring our ideas to life. Would happily recommend!”

Jordan MilmanDirector, F&F Drainage “We have used 2 or 3 larger agencies in the past.... All were a waste of money, Nigel has been very consistent and lovely to deal with.”

Balance the atmosphere with the essentials
A restaurant website should convey something of the experience while remaining useful. A beautiful image loses its purpose if guests cannot find the menu or establish whether the kitchen is open.
Put the practical routes within easy reach, then let visitors explore the venue, food and events in more detail. The content and booking arrangements need to reflect how the business actually runs.

Questions about restaurant websites
Why not use PDF menus?
A well-structured web menu is usually easier to resize, navigate and update. PDFs can be indexed and made accessible, but may create extra friction on a phone. Assess the actual format rather than assuming all PDFs are unreadable.
Can we update the menu ourselves?
That should be considered in the editing requirements. . Agree who checks prices and dietary information when changes are made.
Which booking system should we use?
Whatever you already have. We will integrate it properly rather than pushing you onto something new that takes a cut.
Do we need a blog?
A blog is useful only if there is something worth publishing and capacity to maintain it. Current menus, events and practical information may deserve priority.
Can we promote events and private dining?
Give each offer its own useful details, such as capacity, menus and how to enquire. If events change regularly, include them in the editing requirements so the team can keep the information current.
